About Us

Bridgeport Energy was founded in 2009, to establish, acquire and develop oil and gas assets in Australia. We have grown at the drill bit and through acquisitions to become the third largest operator and fourth largest tenement holder in the Cooper Basin. We now employ more than 50 people and focus on technical excellence, safe operations, and cost consciousness.
We hold 850 km² of net oil producing acreage in nine production projects in the Cooper-Eromanga Basin in Queensland and South Australia. Bridgeport’s nearby exploration permits cover an area of 1,016 km².
Our producing asset within the Surat Basin is the iconic Moonie Oil Field – the oldest, continuously producing oil field in Queensland. Including Moonie, Bridgeport holds 610 km² of net acreage in the Surat Basin.
We also own three exploration permits in the Otway Basin, two onshore and one offshore, totalling 4,508 km².
